EBSDinterp is a computer program to interpolate electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD) data using the underlying microstructure as a guide to avoid creating artefacts. It reads in binary .cpr files (... morefrom Oxford-HKL CHANNEL 5) or ASCII .ctf files. The user can alter a number of processing parameters that control the the extent to which intepolation is permitted via the number of indexed neighbours a pixel has and the quality of the original EBSD pattern (using the band contrast).
It is written in MATLAB 2012b and compiled using the MATLAB compiler runtime (MCR) 2012b version 7 for both 32 and 64-bit Windows machines. EBSDinterp can be run using single or multicore computing as it make use of the parallel processing toolbox in MATLAB.less

Included are the Bruker composite files that contain spectra for each point on the map, images of chemical maps for individual elements and composite RGB maps showing Mg, Fe, and Ca respectively. For composite images, chemistry is overlain on back scattered electron images to give the image the resolution of the BSE image but chemical data from the x-ray spectra.less

Note that dolomite is indexed using the calcite match unit due to problems with systematic misindexing of dolomite.
Two files are included for each map with suffixes 'Raw' and 'Processed' to indicate the as collected and final published data respectively. less
