Modelling soil organic carbon dynamics from 2009 to 2070
This data collection includes the APSIM-simulated soil organic carbon (SOC) dynamics in the top 30 cm soil layers at 1890 sites across Australian cropping areas. To generate the data, APSIM was firstly constrained by observed data reported in NCAS report No. 36 (See the data here: https://doi.org/10.4225/08/54F0786D6D923). Then, the constrained APS... moreIM model will run from 2009 to 2070 at the daily time step using current comment management practices and under different nitrogen, residue management and climate change scenarios. Grains Industry Life Cycle Inventory
Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is the most commonly used tool to determine the environmental impact of a product, by taking into account all of the impacts across the supply chain and across different impact categories. However, LCA is only as good as the underlying data or Life Cycle Invertory (LCI). Country- or regionally-specific LCI allows differe... morences in management and regional climate and soils information to be taken into account explicitly. Through LCA, opportunities to modify the emissions profile can be determined and growers can demonstrate the sustainability of their production systems. LCA can be used to aid and drive improvement in these systems. This will assist growers to meet marketing requirements and to benchmark their production system. This project will lead to a Grains' Industry able to respond to requests from customers for environmental information related to production. less
