About this Collection

Volatile Organic Compound passive sampler data from GISERA Air Quality study

Volatile organic compound, aldehyde and hydrogen sulphide (H2S) passive samplers were deployed at 10 sites in the Surat Basin as part of the Gas Industry Social and Environmental Research Alliance (GISERA) Surat Basin Ambient Air Quality project. Samplers were deployed for an average exposure time of 2 weeks, providing a 2-week average concentrat... more

Samplers were deployed by SGS Consulting Chinchilla and analysed by SGS Consulting Mitcham. Concentration data were provided to CSIRO.

This project was supported by the Gas Industry Social and Environmental Research Alliance (GISERA). GISERA undertakes publicly-reported independent research that addresses the socioeconomic and environmental impacts of Australia's natural gas industries. http://gisera.csiro.au/ Thanks to Origin Energy for providing access to monitoring sites and to landholders who hosted passive gas samplers on their properties. Thanks to Scott Henson for data handling and processing.

About this Project

GISERA Air Quality Surat Basin

These measurements were undertaken as part of the Gas Industry Social and Environmental Research Alliance (GISERA) project on Ambient Air Quality in the Surat Basin, Queensland. The purpose of the study was to 1) to measure and assess air quality, and 2) to investigate the influence of coal seam gas (CSG) activities on air quality in this region A... more
