All data were obtained by staff and students employed within the Agriculture and Food business unit at the FD McMaster Laboratory, Chiswick or through the University of New England, Armidale, NSW.

This project looked at optimising the welfare of free-range laying hens through housing and rearing methods. New behavioural tests were developed to assess welfare of layers.
