About this Collection

Quail Thrush (Cinclosoma) whole genome raw sequence reads (Illumina)

125 bp paired-end Illumina HiSeq 2500 v4.0 NGS sequence reads for 72 individually indexed Cinclosoma specimens (by mitochondrial data composed of C. castanotum [4], C. clarum [43], C. fordianum [23], and one each of C. punctatum and C. cinnamomeum alisteri as outgroups). This sequence data forms the basis of a biogeographic population genomics stud... more

DNA was extracted from toe pads of voucher specimens housed at the Australian National Wildlife Collection, the Western Australian Museum, and the South Australian Museum. Library preparation was performed in-house using a modified version of the Meyer-Kircher protocol. Full details of DNA extraction and library preparation methods may be found here:

About this Project

OCE Postdoc Evolutionary Rescue a

Genomic technologies give increased power for understanding the dynamics of speciation. Complex patterns are emerging in the speciation history of the southern Australian bird known as Quail-thrush (Aves: Passeriformes: Cinclosoma). Analysis of mitochondrial and nuclear genes previous affirmed three species, C. castanotum in the east of the range, ... more
