Explore the interaction of hydraulic fractures with natural fractures that produce fracture geometries that are observed or inferred to typically occur in these reservoirs, including criteria determining crossing, offsetting, or blunting of a hydraulic fracture that encounters a natural fracture.

Hydraulic fracture crossing experiments


16 tests were completed across 13 rock samples and 2 PMMA samples were conducted to determine crossing criteria of natural boundaries and compare with 2D numerical simulations.
